100th day of school!

We are 100 days smarter! I can’t believe we have already been in school 100 days! We had so much fun dressing up and celebrating this big day!

Our doorway

Each student got to choose a balloon. Inside the balloon had a 100 day activity (100 jump and jacks, talk for 100 seconds, dance for 100 seconds etc.)

We had a parade through the school! The 1st and 2nd graders came to watch.

We built a tower using 100 cups!

We made 100 day mix! We counted out 10 pieces of each food to make 100 pieces of food in our bags!

We had a number scavenger hunt through our hallway! Parker, Graham, and Crawford found the most!

We wrote about what we would do if we had a $100 bill.

Zero the Hero came to our school! He helped us count to 100!

Penguins

This week we are learning all about penguins! Today we learned that they have blubber/fat to keep them warm. We did an experiment with two bowls of ice water. One bowl had a blubber glove, the other did not. The ice water with no blubber was very cold!!! We found that the blubber is like a jacket for the penguins, it keeps them very warm.

We also learned that the daddy carries the egg on his feet. We tried to carry an egg on our feet like they do. We found that it is really hard. The children had to waddle to keep the eggs from falling.

Life Cycle of a Snowman

The Life Cycle of a Snowman
We made a snowman at the beginning of the day. We watched him turn from a solid to a liquid. We were scientist and recorded our findings throughout the day!

Christmas Party

Merry Christmas! We had such a fun time at our Christmas party and program! Thank you parents for all of your help at this special time of year!

Polar Express day!

All aboard! On Wednesday, December 18 we went to the North Pole on the Polar Express! On our adventure we wore our pajamas, drank hot chocolate, and had a snack! Santa left our class bell necklaces for all those who believe..." This bell is a wonderful symbol of the spirit of Christmas - as am I. Just remember, the true spirit of Christmas lies in your heart." (Polar Express Movie)
